When you are in a safe place, call M.U.D.'s emergency hotline at 402.554.7777 or 9-1-1.

M.U.D. announces launch of refreshed utility assistance program
Omaha, Neb.—In 1983, Metropolitan Utilities District (M.U.D.) established the Heat Aid Fund to assist seniors, people with disabilities and limited-income customers suffering severe financial hardships. Through customer donations and fundraising events like the annual Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth, more than 35,000 households have been served in that time.
Effective today, the fund has a new name, but its mission remains the same. The Home Fund aims to provide utility assistance by connecting customers in need with the community.
M.U.D. understands there is a growing need for assistance among our neighbors, family and friends who may be facing financial hardships as a result of COVID-19. The continued success of the Home Fund depends on donations both large and small from those in the community.
Customers and non-customers alike can donate to the Home Fund, with 100 percent of donations going directly to those in need.
Visit the website to learn more about the Home Fund, including how to give or request assistance through local agency partners.
