WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY?

Gas leaks, odor of gas, damaged lines, carbon monoxide symptoms and water main breaks are all considered emergencies.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not use any electrical switches, appliances, lights, telephones, or mobile devices, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call M.U.D.'s emergency hotline at 402.554.7777 or 9-1-1.

If someone is showing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, call 9-1-1 immediately. Symptoms are like the flu.

¿QUÉ ES UNA EMERGENCIA?

Las fugas de gas, el olor a gas, las tuberías de gas dañadas, los síntomas de monóxido de carbono y roturas en las tuberías principales de agua son consideradas emergencias.

Project Update (9/1/2023): Missouri Avenue from 16th to 18th Streets – Due to the amount of utility cables in this area, the new gas main to be installed will need to be open cut, not bored. The open cut will be on the south side of the curb line. We are asking folks to avoid parking on the south side of the street as we work to install this main. Sidewalks and landscaping will be removed and restored after the installation is completed.

Project Update (10/5/2023): Gas service installations continue in the project areas. We anticipate work to be completed by the end of this year, barring any unplanned details. Please keep in mind site restoration will not be completed prior to Halloween – use caution when walking in project areas. For more details, click the link above.
