Heat the Streets Omaha!
In 2016, more than 1,500 households will need energy assistance in the metro Omaha area to keep their homes warm in the winter and cool in the summer. To help those in need, local utility companies, non-profit agencies and corporate partners are teaming up for the 9th Annual Heat the Streets Run and Walk for Warmth! Scheduled for Saturday, March 5, this event raises money and awareness for those who have fallen on hard times and need help getting back on their feet.
Join us at Midtown Crossing for this family-friendly event! There is a professionally-timed 5K run, starting in Midtown Crossing and winding through the historic Midtown and Field Club neighborhoods, and also an untimed, one-mile walk around Turner Park. The run starts at 9:00 a.m., with the walk to immediately follow. An awards ceremony will follow the race – and you don’t have to be fast to win! There will be free raffle drawings for a variety of prizes.
For more information or to register, visit www.heatthestreetsomaha.org. The 5K run is $43 and the one-mile walk is $27. Prices increase to $50 and $35, respectively, on March 1.
